Birth: Nov. 16, 1923 Death: Oct. 12, 1994 Ralph LaMar Berger died at the age of 70 on October 12.1994. He died in his home in Plymouth, Indiana as the result of cancer. He preferred to go by his middle name LaMar and most people knew him as LaMar. He was born November 16, 1923 to Ralph and N. Agnes Berger in Plymouth, Indiana. He was married May 13, 1944 to Mary Alice Steffey in Howe, Indiana. They had 4 children Gary Lee, Dennis Lynn, Cindy Sue and Sally Jo. LaMar was a farmer working Father and Mothers farm in Plymouth, Indiana. One day a salesman came to the house to show him an electric welder. LaMar was impressed with what a welder could do for farmers and began selling welders out of the trunk of his car. Later he purchased a dealership from Don Gordon in Plymouth and opened a store at the farm called Berger Farm and Welding Supply. It became one of the largest welding stores in the area. He was a lifetime member of Shiloh Wesleyan Church in Plymouth Indiana and later in retirement a member of the Senior Citizens Shuffle board Association. Funeral services were held at Mishlers Funeral Home in Bremen, Indiana. Rev. Larry Wilson, pastor of Shiloh Wesleyan Church and Rev. Willis Woods, former pastor from Shiloh officiated.
