Miss Katie Beyler died Sunday afternoon at the home of her brother, Edward Beyler, and family, where she was making her home, following a paralytic stroke which she suffered a week before. Funeral services were held in Salem Evangelical church yesterday morning, conducted by Rev. Griesemer, the pastor. Internment was in the Bremen cemetery.
Catherine Beyler, daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Beyler, was born near Bremen Sept. 10, 1850, lived in the vicinity all her life, and died Sunday July 30, 1916, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 20 days. In her childhood, she attended the local schools, later attending an institution for higher education in South Bend. For several years she taught school, later retiring to quiet home duties. She enjoyed the esteem of all who knew her. Some years ago her health began to fail, her eyesight particularly becoming quite defective. Her indisposition culminated in a stroke of paralysis a week before her death.
Surviving her are two sisters and two brothers, George Beyler of South Bend, Mrs. Mary Weiss of Plymouth, Mrs. Emma Knoblock and Edward Beyler of Bremen.
