Martin H. Kreider died following a tractor accident at his home. Mr. Kreider was a 1944 graduate of Washington Center High School in Whitley County. He was the owner & operator of J & K Feed Service from 1956 - present. He was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Huntington County Pork Producers, the Isaac Walton League for 38 years, American Legion Post 7, VFW Post 2689 and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a proud Red Cross blood donor for many years. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army serving as a medical technician from 1944 - 1946.
He was born in Kosciusko County, a son of Howard D. and Opal S. Salesman Kreider.
He was united in marriage to Mary E. Zahm on October 18, 1947 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include three sons: Phillip P. Kreider, Lawrence A. Kreider, Michael H. Kreider all of Huntington, three daughters: Mrs. Bill (Mary L.) Cary of Upland, CA., Mrs. Phil (Helen) Goble of Titusville, FL., Mrs. John (Kathleen) Rakoczy of Huntington, two brothers: Richard Kreider of Columbia City, Joe Kreider of Fort Wayne, one sister: Donna Rubrake of Columbia City, 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: David M. Kreider and three brothers: Paul Kreider, Rex Kreider, Russell Kreider and a sister: Joyce May.
