[S927] Obituary. Emmerich DECATUR Eugene F. Emmerich, 70, of Decatur died 3:15 p.m. Thursday (July 11, 2002) in his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Island Grove, with the Rev. Edwin Albers officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich, with 6 p.m. wake service. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wheeler. Memorials: American Cancer Society. Eugene was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Wheeler, the son of Andrew and Anna Meinhart Emmerich. He was a retired state of Illinois employee and member of Immaculate Conception Church, Mattoon. Surviving are his son, Mike of South Carolina; daughters, Michelle Miller of Blooming-ton; Jennifer Emmerich of Peoria; Elizabeth Brazeale and Heather Emmerich, both of Decatur; Amy Bernath of Colorado; brothers, Oliver, Ralph and Bob, all of Wheeler; sisters, Anna Stuckey of Mat-toon; Theresa Willenborg of Decatur; Judy Street of Forsyth; nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
