Burrell (September 7, 1920 - November 23, 2017) Teutopolis Press - April 4, 1940BURRELL-HUTMACHERMiss Malinda Hutmacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Albert Hutmacher became the bride of Charles Burrell, son of Mr. and Mrs Jesse Burrell in a solemn ceremony performed at 8 o'clock Saturday morning, April 6, 1940, by the Rev John Gramke in St Anthony Church at Effingham. All parties live in Effingham.The bride's twin sister, Miss Virginia and Harold Lustig, a cousin, were the attendants.The bride was lovely in white satin, made princess style. Her tulle veil was held in place with a tiara of satin cord and trailed beautifully. White roses and sweet peas comprised her bouquet. Her bridesmaid wore aqua blue taffeta with a wreath of gold flowers in her hair. Her flowers were pink roses and sweet peas.A breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents immediately after the ceremony. In the evening a wedding dance was tendered their many friends in the Rainbow Hall in Teutopolis.Mr. and Mrs Burrell will make their home in Effingham. Mr. Burrell is employed with the Peoria Caterpillar Factory.This paper extends congratulations to the young couple.--Published on November 24 2017 9:33 am Malinda M. Burrell, 97 of Effingham, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 23, 2017 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 27 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:00 p.m. parish prayer service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael?s School or Heartland Christian Village Auxiliary.Malinda was born September 7, 1920 in Jasper County, the daughter of Albert and Catherine (Meinhart) Hutmacher. She married Charles A. Burrell on April 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1968. Malinda worked for Fedders Corporation for 25 years; retiring in 1983. She was a long time member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Sigel and the St. Michael Council of Catholic Women.Malinda is survived by her son, David (Joyce) of Teutopolis; daughters, Jean (Nolan) Sheehan and Ruth (Bob) Short, both of Neoga; grandchildren, Dan (Joann) Sheehan, Todd Burrell, Tonya (Paul) Flood, Jason (Jeannie) Burrell, Shannon (Bruce) Koester, Nathan (Kelly) Short, Jennifer Short (special friend, Julian Wilks) and Beth (Nick) Raycraft; 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.Malinda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Kay; sister, Irene Lau and twin sister, Virginia Buening.
