Edward Berreth was born September 29, 1917 in Emmons County, rural Linton, North Dakota the son of Adam and Margerat (Hoff) Berreth. He was reared and educated there attending country school. He then farmed with his father for six years before moving to a farm near Edgeley, North Dakota. On December 2, 1939 he was united in marriage to Anna Maria Staudinger at Linton, North Dakota. In 1966 they moved to Park River where he worked for the Park River School District in bus maintenance and as a bus driver for 27 years. He also managed the Texaco Station during this time and later managed the Standard Station for 13 years. He retired in 1991 from the school district. He was a former member of the Eagles. Edward is survived by his wife: Anna Maria; daughters: LaDona (Myron) Tarno, Judy Horan and Sherry (Donald) Greicar; eleven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; sisters: Tillie Lahren and Florence Maier; nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by Alvin Bender; his parents; granddaughter, Holly Tarno; grandson, Andrew Greicar; fourbrothers, and three sisters. Funeral Services: Will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Federated Church in Park River with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
