Selma Schock
STEELE - Selma Schock, 88, Steele, died June 27, 2008, at Medcenter One Golden Manor Care Center, Steele. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Medcenter One Golden Manor Care Center. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Steele, and continues one hour prior to services at the nursing home Monday.
Selma was born Feb. 1, 1920, and raised on a farm 24 miles from Linton, the daughter of Jacob and Magdalena (Lindermann) Bender. She married August Schock April 8, 1939. Selma was a homemaker and mom, living most of her life in the Steele area. August passed away Feb. 29, 1984.
Selma is survived by her children, Arnold A. Schock, Steele, James L. (Marlys) Schock, Boise, Idaho, and Mary Lou Schock, Roseburg, Ore.; her siblings, Rosina Lautermilch, Spokane, Wash., and Magdalena Bender, Linton; and her special friends, Polly Hoffer, Mary Ellen Strand and Deb Olson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, August; her parents; and her siblings, Emma Anhorn, Peter Bender, Fred Bender, Benjamin Bender, William Bender, Adolf Bender, John Bender, Hanna Munsch, Jacob Bender, Emil Bender, Katherina Mulske, Emanuel Bender and Emilia Bender.
