HOLTON - Leo Francis Ehrhart, 82, of Colorado, formerly of Holton, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born August 21, 1932 at Delia, the son of George and Alice McGuire Ehrhart. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.
Leo worked as a Union Ironworker with Kansas City Local No. 10 for over thirty years. He moved to Colorado in 1988 after retiring.
He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and St. Benedict Catholic Church in Florence, CO, Kansas City Local No. 10, and American Legion Post No. 400 in Topeka.
Leo married Corrine F. Dawson at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. She died September 8, 1984.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers....
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 4th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Hoyt. Leo will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by visitation. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, or Kansas State University Pet Tribute, sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS 66436.
