ace Taves
Age 80, of Menasha, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002 at home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer . Grace was born in Ewen, Michigan to the late Mitchell and Alice Bricco Guyette on February 22, 1922. She married Richard Taves on August 26, 1939 in Menasha. She loved to embroider, knit, and most of all spend time with her family. Grace was also a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Menasha
Survivors include: two daughters: Carole Ervin Luebke and Bev Richard Schmidt, both of Menasha; four sons; Richard Nancy Taves, Larsen; Robert Shirley Taves and Jack Mary Taves, both of Neenah; Tim Mary Taves, Appleton; 20 grandchildren: Debbie Terry Moderson, Nanette Don Drews, David Michelle Taves, Robin Tom Reetz, Tammy Tim Wyman, Kathy Dave Reed, Bob Jr. Jennifer Taves, Brian Rhonda Luebke, Dawn Jeff Lehman, Jodi Tom Butler, Bill Tracy Schmidt, Dan Schmidt, Kevin Gina Schimdt, Jason Gregory, Dave Kris Schimdt, Craig Becky Schmidt, Stephanie Chris Webb, Jon Erin Taves, Elizabeth and Tyler Taves. 35 great grandchildren; three sisters: May Rose Joe Klein, CA, Vera Al Lietz, Appleton and Alice Duwayne Meyer, Bear Creek, one brother, Stanley Helen Guyette, Green Bay, brother-in-law William Taves, Menasha, sisters-in-law Helen Ernst, Appleton and Betty Marvin Kofnetka, Neenah.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in December of 2000; brothers: Loyas, Francis, Orville, and Floyd; sisters Valley Hansen and Beatrice Latza; a daughter Laurie, and a grandson Scott Taves.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church 212 Appleton St. in Menasha at 10:30 AM with Father Roy Geenan officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and also one hour at church prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah. The family would like to thank the Theda Care Hospice Program for their loving care of Grace, especially Diane. A memorial fund is being established.
