Richard C. Taves
100 Lawson Street, Menasha
Age 83, died Thursday, December 7, 2000 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1917 in Neenah, son of Alfred and Anna (Mazanetz) Taves. Richard married Grace Guyette August 26, 1939 in Menasha. He was employed at Neenah Paper Company for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1979 and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. He was a former member of the Neenah Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was a daily member of "a breakfast club" in Menasha restaurants.
Richard is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters: Carole (Ervin) Luebke and Bev (Richard) Schmidt, both of Menasha; four sons: Richard (Nancy) Taves, Larsen; Robert (Shirley) Taves and Jack (Mary) Taves, both of Neenah; Tim (Mary) Taves, Appleton; 20 grandchildren: Debbie (Terry) Moderson, Nannette (Don) Drews, David (Michelle) Taves, Robin (Tom) Reetz, Tammy Broekman and fiance Tim Wyman, Kathy (Dave) Reed, Bob Jr. (Jennifer) Taves, Brian Luebke and fiancee Rhonda Hynes, Dawn (Jeff) Lehman, Jodi (Tom) Butler, Bill (Tracy) Schmidt, Dan Schmidt, Kevin (Gina) Schmidt, Jason Gregory, Dave (Kris) Schmidt, Craig Schmidt and fiancee, Becky Riecker, Stephanie Klemm and fiancee, Chris Webb, Jon (Erin) Taves, Elizabeth and Tyler Taves; 28 great grandchildren; a brother, William Taves, Menasha; two sisters: Helen Ernst, Appleton and Betty (Marvin) Kofnetka, Neenah. Mr. Taves was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Kolasinsky; two brothers: Harold and Alfred Taves, a daughter, Laurie Taves; a grandson, Scott Taves, two grandsons-in-law: Kevin Klemm and Mike Broekman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Monday, December 11, 2000, at Saint Patrick Church with Rev. Roy Geenen officiating. Interment will be in Saint Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the Kessler Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 9 am. Monday until the time of the Mass. A prayer service will be held at 8p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Taves was an organ donor.
A memorial has been established.
