Birth: Dec. 10, 1922 Roscoe Edmunds County South Dakota, USA Death: Feb. 12, 2013 Aberdeen Brown County South Dakota, USA Funeral Services for Alvina Feickert, 90, of Aberdeen, will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 214 SW 7th Avenue, Aberdeen with Reverend Hyle Anderson presiding. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Alvina passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Alvina Vilhauer was born on December 10, 1922 at rural Roscoe, SD to Emanuel and Caroline (Junkert) Vilhauer. She grew up and attended rural country school near Roscoe. Alvina was united in marriage to Leonard Feickert in Roscoe on November 20, 1946. They made their home in Aberdeen. Alvina was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her four children. Her hobbies were embroidering, quilting and especially gardening. Alvina took special pride in accompanying her husband, Leonard, on two missionary trips to Africa in 1984 and 1987. They also were Laborers for Christ for many years and helped build new churches in eleven different states. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Feickert of Aberdeen; her children, Larry Feickert of Maple Grove, MN, Shirley (Paul) Daschel of Aberdeen, Lon (Penny) Feickert of Faulkton, SD and Roland (Mary) Feickert of Lawrenceville, NJ; five grandchildren, Nick Feickert, Andrea Feickert, Marol Feickert, Paul Rugg and Angela (Rugg) Johnson; one brother, Fred (Verna) Vilhauer of Aberdeen and one sister, Ruby (Robert) Wiley of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gene Vilhauer, Robert Vilhauer and Clarence Vilhauer and her granddaughter, Stephanie Daschel.
