Birth: May 13, 1921 Heath Washington County Idaho, USA Death: Mar. 1, 2002 Helena Lewis and Clark County Montana, USA Robert Eugene DeBord, age 80, of Lincoln, died of cancer early Fri morning, 1 Mar 2002, at the Veterans Medical Center t Ft Harison. bob was born in Heath, ID, 13 May 1921 to George Lewis and Alice Belle (Scoubes) DeBord. he attended and graduated from high school in Baker city, OR. Following graduation Bob entered the US Air Corps, serving his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. During his service in WWII, Bob was picked up in the Philippines and held as a POW in Japan for 3 1/2 yrs. He retired from the military at Malmstrom Air Force Base in great Falls in Nov 1959. Three days after retirement bob began his second career working for Boeing Corp as an electrician, installing missiles in many locations across the US. he retired from Boeing in 1976. Bob married Della Bender in Reno, NV, 5 Apr 1952. They made their home in Lincoln. He was a life member of the VFW Post #3369 Lincoln, a life member of the DAV and the 90th Bomber Group, whom he served with in the military, and a member of the BPOE Elks #193 in Helena. Bob was preceded in death by his son John DeBord, granddaughter Twila and brother Everett DeBord. He is survived by his wife Della of Lincoln, sister Alva Lloyd of Baker City, OR, and adopted daughter Bonnie Shown of Lincoln. Burial was in the Old Lincoln Gulch Cemetery.
