Gideon Raile, 82, Bismarck, died May 10, 2014, at home. Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 13, at Evangel Assembly of God Church, Bismarck with Rev. Roger Will officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Monday, May 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Gideon was born June 18, 1931, on a farm southwest of Wishek, ND, the son of Jacob and Christina (Martel) Raile. He attended Wishek High School and graduated in 1949. He served in the US Marine Corp in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in October 1953. Gideon attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. Gideon married Margaret E. Bender of Ashley, ND, on June 15, 1957. Margaret passed away in December of 1991, and was the daughter of Fred and Emma Bender of Ashley. He married Lucille Schumacher of Ashley in 1992, the daughter of John J. and Marianna Schumacher. Gideon worked in various banks as president, vice-president, CEO Director and in the field of finances. Gideon worked in the cities of Ashley, Wishek, Beulah, Crosby, Sheyenne and Bismarck, and at the FMHA state office in Sisseton, SD, Billings, MT, Circle, MT, Sidney, MT, and Hulett, WY. He was always active in the communities where he lived; civic and church organizations, serving as a member officer or director, and always willing to service the needs of people. He was always friendly, loved people, and most of all, his children and grandchildren. Gideon loved reading the Bible and talking about our Lord Jesus. His hobbies were cars, bowling, and watching sports. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Joy Umphrey, Gilbert, AZ, and Mary Mitchell, Renton, WA; two step-sons, Terrance Meidinger, Walhalla, ND, and Timothy Meidinger, Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Weisser, CA; and two brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; his parents; five brothers; six sisters; one brother-in-law; and his parents-in-law.
