Esther was born on July 27, 1917 to Christian and Magdalena Heil Schneider in Bon Homme County near Tripp, South Dakota. Esther was baptized on Dec. 2, 1917 by Rev. Alfred Funk, and was confirmed on June 26, 1932 by Rev. K. J. Stuebbe. She attended country school to the 8th grade and helped on the family farm. On August 25th 1938 Esther married Ruben Hieb at Tripp, SD. For a while she worked for the Government in Hawaii. Then she moved back to Tripp. She helped Ruben and his dad in their trucking business, when they moved into town she was a homemaker and also was a house keeper for Dr. Mueller. Later she worked part time in the Tripp school cafeteria. Esther?s family fondly remembers her great German dumplings and her homemade fudge Sauce for Ice cream. Her grandchildren will ?always remember? her favorite treat was Ice cream and club crackers. Esther was a resident at Tripp Good Samaritan for a few years before passing away at Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota on Saturday, November 2, 2019 Esther is survived by her daughter, Gail Stocking, Yankton; Grandsons, Derek ( Christy) Ogren Peculiar, Missouri; Joel Ogren, Midland, V.A.; Jerome Ogren, Sioux Falls, S.D. and great grandchildren, Jackson, Abigail, Caroline, Jennifer, Joshua, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Ruben passed away on February 25, 1986 and nine siblings, Bertha, Edwin, Emil, Laura, Louise, Emma, Ella, Herbert and Elmer-John. Two son-in-laws, Warren Stocking & Jack Ogren.
