Birth: Aug. 24, 1923 Menno Hutchinson County South Dakota, USA Death: Dec. 3, 2006 Sioux Falls Minnehaha County South Dakota, USA Arlene Mehlhaf, 83, of Menno, SD passed away Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held on 10:30 am, Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Zion Reformed Church in Menno, SD with Rev. Scott Henry, officiating. Burial will be at approximately 2:30 pm at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Armour, SD on Wednesday. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 11 am until 9 pm with a scripture service at 7:30 pm at Aisenbrey-Kostel Funeral Home in Menno, SD. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, LeLund Schoon, Scott Kirchhevel, Jeremy Kirchhevel, Kevin Meyer, Troy Diede and Derrick Mehlhaf. Arlene Rita (Weigt) Meyer-Mehlhaf, was born on August 24, 1923 to Edmund and Adeline (Baumann) Weigt in Menno, SD. She was baptized on September 30, 1923 and confirmed on July 2, 1939 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menno. On July 20, 1941 she married Ramey Meyer in Delmont, SD and to this union six children were born. Ramey passed away on July 1, 1970. On September 30, 1972 she married Victor Mehlhaf of Menno. She was an active member of the Zion Reformed Church of Menno, was a board member of the Menno-Olivet Care Center and a volunteer driver for the ROCS Program. Arlene enjoyed reading, helping others and spending time with family. Arlene is survived by her husband, Victor of Menno; daughters, Kathryn (Russell) Rosengren of Fredonia, WI, LuEtta (Maynard) Kirchhevel of Mitchell, Coreen Friederich and friend, Larry Miller of Tripp; sons, Conrad (Erma) Meyer of Avon, Kurtis (Sue) Meyer of Sioux Falls; step-daughters, Betty (Charles) Kauffman of Marshall, MN, Dorothy (Larry) Weigandt of Mitchell, Deloris (Mike) Diede of Yankton; step-sons, Loren (Renee) Mehlhaf of Mitchell, Duane Mehlhaf of Vermillion; brothers, Juel Weigt of Coldwater, MI, Roderick Weigt of Jerome, ID; Rodney Weigt of Boise, ID; sister, Cynthia Walker of Tucson, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her first husband, Ramey Meyer; daughter, Sharon Bueber; brothers, LeJuene and Devine Wildermuth and Gordon Weigt; sister, Mavis Williams; 2 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson.
