HEINTZMAN, Forrest A., of Louisville 85, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at his residence.
Forrest was a retired meat merchandiser for Kroger and a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic minister. He was a WWII Coast Guard veteran and a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America serving as scout master for troop #4. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Children's Home for over 60 years. Forrest graduated from St. Xavier High School and attended Indiana University. After a short retirement he ventured to many opportunities involving MTH Supermarket, U.S. Department of Commerce, Funeral Auto and his dream job was eight years with Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home and his special relationships with Kyle, Wendy, Karen, Joan and the Owen family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Karen; son, Frank M. Heintzman; parents; and brother, Joseph.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Marian T. Gerstle; sons, David P. Heintzman (Jennie) and Michael F. Heintzman (Teresa); daughters, Kathy A. Mitchell (John) and Karen Heintzman; and grandchildren, Caroline and Michael Heintzman, Michael (Christine) and Laura Mitchell, Sara Heintzman, Ellen McInerney (Pat), Margaret Guelda (Jason), Paul Heintzman and Alex, Amy and Allison Vidor.
His funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 South 6th St. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
