Theodore L. "Ted" Hale Sr. of South Park passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Gertrude "Tootie" Bellan Hale; loving father of Karen Schreiber (Rick), Nancy Schmidt (Bob), Mary Ray, Theodore "Ted" Hale Jr. (Jeanne) and Richard Hale (Maria); a son of the late Albert M. and Dorothy Mansman Hale; brother of Albert Hale (Alice) and the late Dorothy Obringer; grandfather of Richard Jr., Stephen, Nicole, Justin, Crystal, Hannah, Stephen and Tyler; and great-grandfather of Richard III, Catherine, Adalyn, Ainsley, Josephine and Annabel.
Mr. Hale was a 66-year member of Library Volunteer Fire Company, where he was past chief and president and was currently chairman of the board.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road, Library. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8, in St. Joan of Arc Church, South Park Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allegheny Health Network Hospice, 4818 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
