Birth: May 10, 1873 Edmund Iowa County Wisconsin, USA Death: Feb. 21, 1951 Oto Woodbury County Iowa, USA The Anthon Herald, 28 February 1951 (Oto Observer): Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bethel-Peiro church for Mrs. C.C. Allman, well known Grant twp. resident, who passed away at her home Wednesday morning, February 21, 1951, following a lingering illness. Officiating at the services were Rev. John F. Payne of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Rev. Marion L. Metcalf of Sioux City, former pastors of the Bethel-Peiro Church, and the Rev. D.H. Artman of Anthon, present pastor. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under direction of Hudgel Funeral Home. Mary Maughan, daughter of Michael and Mary Jane Maughan, was born May 10, 1873, near Edmund, Wisconsin, and passed away at her home near Oto February 21, 1951. Mrs. Allman's girlhood was spent in Wisconsin where she became a member of the Mt. Hope Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Christopher C. Allman January 7, 1909. To this union two children were born, Ione and Millard, both of Oto. After her marriage Mrs. Allman came with her husband to the new home he had prepared for his bride on a farm near Oto. Here she became affiliated with the Methodist Church at Bethel, Peiro. Surviving Mrs. Allman are her daughter, Mrs. Ione Moore and her son, Millard, both of Oto; five grandchildren, Alice, Mary Jane and Keith Allman and Marilyn and Galen Moore; a brother, Will Maughan of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; a foster son, Capt. Charles Kay Warrick of Dallas, Texas; a niece, Mrs. Margaret Dunn of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; a nephew, George Maughan of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, and two nieces, Ione and Alma Halverson of Dodgeville, who were reared in the Maughan home. Mrs. Allman was preceded by her husband January 24, 1948.
