WILLIAMSFIELD - Carl D. Duley, 76, of Williamsfield died at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at his home.
Private family funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Yates City Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield.
Memorials can be directed to the Williamsfield Ambulance Service.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1934, in Essex, Mo., the son of Henry and Ethel Appell. He married Mildred R. Hills on Sept. 20, 1953, in Yates City, Ill. She survives as well as one son, Greg (Debra) Duley of Lafayette, Ind.; two daughters, Deann (Darcy) Fowler of Muscatine, Iowa, and Cindy Welker of Farmington, Ill.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Schell of Peoria, Ill., and Mary Ann Brown of Hanna City, Ill.; three brothers, Earl (Emma Jane) Duley of Maquon, Ill., Don Junior Duley of Eden, Ill., and Ralph (Judy) Duley of Yates City, Ill.; and a half brother, Estel Polen of Gilson, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half sister, Ruth; and two half brothers, Charles and Russell.
Carl was a farmer and had farmed in the Yates City and Knox County areas. He worked hard and played hard and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Yates City, the Moose Lodge in Farmington and the Lions Club in Yates City, where he was a past president. He also belonged to the Saddle Club, the Tri County Flying Club and the Quarterhorse Association.
He enjoyed boating, skiing, snowmobiling, bowling, fishing and riding horses.
He loved his family, his grandkids and great-grandkids.
