Lester grew up in the Cramer Hill section of Camden and, along with his wife Marge, raised his own children there. He enlisted in the Army and was a PFC in L Company, 253rd Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. Served in Europe during World War II and received the Bronze Star.

On October 25 2004 of Camden NJ. Age 78 years.
Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Reineck). Devoted father of Margie and her husband John Latko Lester A. Jr. and Wayne. Loving grandfather of Dominic Jonathan Justin Jesse Christopher and the late Sherri. Loving great grandfather of Nicole and Zachary. Dear brother of Marion Sviben Eleanor Silcox and Edward Grossmick.
Prior to retiring Mr. Grossmick was employed at Concrete Steel Co. in Camden for over 30 years. He was also a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Relatives and friends areinvited to the Funeral on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the FALCO/CARUSO & LEONARD CAMDEN FUNERAL HOME 3425 River Avenue where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsuken.
