Winnifred E. J. 'Winnie' Schuetz
TILDEN - Winnifred E. J. "Winnie" Schuetz, 74, entered into peaceful rest Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in memorial Hospital in Belleville.
She was born June 5, 1934, in Rockford, the daughter of Edward L. Rhoades and Eliza Anna (Tucker) Rhoades. She
Winnifred (Known to everyone as Winnie) was raised in Rockford. She graduated from high school in 1952. Winnie was united in marriage with Lewis W.G. Schuetz on June 21, 1952, in Messiah Lutheran Church in Rockford by the Rev. Clyde P. Karricker.
Lewis preceded her in death May 23, 2001.
Five children were born to them, Shirley (John) Landers of Highland; Melody (Robert) Schoeppel of Steeleville; Bruce Schuetz of Sparta; Peggy Guthrie of New Baden; and John (Melissa) Schuetz of Belleville.
Winnie also leaves to mourn her special friend and companion, Jerry Davis of Tilden; along with 14 grandchildren, Tom (Lisa) Boor Jr., Karen O'Brien, Katie Landers, Dennis (Melissa) Schnoeker, Jr., Derek (Erin) Schnoeker, Quentin Schuetz, Timothy (Katie) Schumer, Daniel (Kathy) Schumer, Daniel Miller, Scott Miller, Marc Wilson, Jason Wilson, Dylan Schuetz and Emily Schuetz. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer O'Brien, Megan O'Brien, Hailey Boor, Hannah Boor, Dylan Linders, Savannah Schnoeker, Charlie Schnoeker and Dylan Sherer and one great-great-grandchild, Tyler Keppner. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Florence Wieland of Ollivette, Mo., and a brother-in-law, Elmer Schuetz of rural Coultervillle and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her mother-in-law, Emelie Schuetz and a brother-in-law, Adolph Schuetz.
Winnie helped her husband, Lewis, on the farm for many years and worked outside the home as an office manager in a doctor's office, gathered data from farmers for Prairie Farmer Magazine, enjoyed a short career as an EMT, served as director of the senior center in St. Libory and various other office positions. Winnie was a successful writer in later life, selling stories to magazines such as Good Old Days, Grit and Reminisce. Writing was her passion, and she was generous in sharing information with others interested in becoming writers. All who knew Winnie knew she could never pass up a good yard sale. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Winkle Baptist Church in Coulterville, with the Rev. Jeff Downard of the Winkle Baptist Church officiating.

JONESBORO - Raymond E. Meisenheimer, 99, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Cocoa Beach.

Fern M. Barnfield
CHRISTOPHER - Fern M. Barnfield, 95, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.
Fern was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also worked at the hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Christopher.
She was born July 14, 1913, in Macedonia to Fred Odle and Minnie (Edwards) Odle.
She married Claude Barnfield on Dec. 24, 1928, and he passed away March 17, 1982.
Survivors include children, Dolores and Leroy Miller of Christopher, Debbie and Ray Farmer of O'Fallon, Larry and Pam Barnfield of Summerville, S.C.; grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, Susanne, Marianne, Brad, Chris, Alycia, Alan and Robert; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Brandy, Ryan, Casey, Lauren, Kaelynn, Jacob, Stephanie, Alyssa; great-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Mason, Wesley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Myron Odle; one son, Charles Lindy Barnfield; grandson, Timothy Barnfield; and great-grandson, Timothy Barnfield Jr.
Memorials may be made to Christopher Ministerial Alliance at 412 E. Washington St. Christopher, IL 62822 and will be accepted at the funeral home
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with the Rev. John West officiating. Burial will be in Ridlin Cemetery at the Liberty Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the funeral home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. Burial will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.

Adah Fern Corn
BROUGHTON - Adah Fern (Tucker) Corn, 86, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Hamilton to Thomas A. Tucker and Della (Pemberton) Tucker.
She was married to Lee Corn on July 25, 1990, in Hamburg, and he preceded her in death July 17, 2004.
She worked as a LPN Nurse at Good Shepard Nursing Home and also the Hamilton Memorial Nursing center before retiring. She also was in the Coast Guard women's reserve. She was a member of the Hebron Cumberland Presbyterian Church, White Shrine, Eastern Star and Hamilton Co. Home Extension.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Thomas) Weisenburger of Broughton; three grandchildren, Jeremy Randolph, Chaurda and Brittany Wiesenberger; one great-child, Talon Randolph; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Loren and Dallas Tucker; two sisters, Mildred and Stella.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 2008, in Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, with the Revs. John Wooldridge and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery in Broughton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at the funeral home.
