Roger R. Kolweier
Roger R. Kolweier, age 47, of O’Fallon, born October 12, 1967 in Nashville, Illinois, died May 28, 2015 as a result of a tragic jobsite accident in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Roger grew up in Okawville and graduated from Okawville Community High School. He was a heavy equipment operator and was working at Keller Construction. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers in the Local 520. He was an IHSA basketball official, and attended Faith Family Church in Shiloh where he served on the security team and as an usher. He was a loving and caring husband, father and Papa, and he valued his wife and their children. Considered a jack-of-all-trades, he was quick to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Roger was a hard-worker; he had a good sense of humor and a strong faith in God.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gustav and Vera, nee Blumhorst, Kolweier; his daughter Lindsay Stock; his father-in-law Eugene Groesbeck; and his godfather Uncle Roy Kolweier.
Surviving are his wife Shelley, nee Groesbeck, Kolweier, of O’Fallon; his son Jordan, of the home, in O’Fallon; daughters Bailey Kolweier, Stephanie (Ron) Hinton of Florissant, Mo., sons Jason (Lindsey) Stock of Sioux City, Iowa; Adam (Joslyn) Stock of Hampton, Iowa.
Also surviving are his grandchildren Zalaya, Jyryn, Destynie, Nikiera, Emerson, Hudson, Morgan, Jayden, and Ashton; siblings Raymond (Sandra), Ruth Ann (Gary) Richards, Robert “Cowboy” (Sue),Ronnie (Sharon), and Rhonda Faye (Glen) Isringhaus; brothers-in-law Steve Groesbeck of Tex., Doug (Denise) Groesbeck, of Calif., and Brent (Linda) Groesbeck, of Calif.; mother-in-law Maxine Groesbeck; special aunt and wife of his godfather Marie Kolweier; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear church friends.
The family kindly wishes, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to a college fund for his son Jordan.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, June 1, 2015 at Faith Family Church, 704 N. Green Mount Road, Shiloh; and after 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at the church.
Funeral: 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Faith Family Church, Shiloh, with Pastors John Temple and Paul Fernandes officiating. As per Roger’s wishes, cremation will follow.
