Birth: Dec. 1, 1924 Butler Butler County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Dec. 13, 2012 Cabot Butler County Pennsylvania, USA Frank Rome, 88, of Cabot died Thursday morning at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 1, 1924, a son of Louis and Mary Rome. Frank had worked at the Penn Dixie Cement plant for more than 43 years and for more than 50 years he had operated Frank Rome's Slaughter House at his home. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church-Coylesville, Fenelton, and was a life member of the Roman Catholic Men's Club. Frank enjoyed farming and gardening, playing cards, going to auctions and mostly spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Osche Rome. They were married Aug. 20, 1947, and she passed away Jan. 31, 1996. He also was preceded by his parents and one brother, John Rome. Surviving are three children, Francis (Charla) Rome, Louis C. Rome and Angela (William) Plunkard, all of Butler; four grandchildren, James, Billie Joann, Amber and Clinton; four great-grandchildren, Heather, Skyler, Chelsea and Myles; and two brothers, Louis (Elsie) Rome and William Rome, all of Butler. ROME - Friends of Frank Rome, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church - Coylesville, 668 Clearfield Road, Fenelton.
