Beveridge Oakmont Formerly of Arnold Betty Louise Gordon Beveridge, 86, formerly of Arnold, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont. She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Mt. Jewett to the late Fred and Anna Smith Gordon, was a 1936 graduate of Arnold High School, and was an Alle-Kiski Valley resident for over 60 years. Mrs. Beveridge was owner and operator of Betty's Beauty Shop in Arnold from 1954 to 1968, and was a member of Arnold United Methodist Church. She is the beloved mother of Craig M. (Susan) Beveridge and Rebecca B. (Thomas J.) Briney, both of Oakmont; grandmother of Lisa Fouts, Cassie Weitzel, Adrienne Beveridge and Allyson and Patrick Briney; great-grandmother of Jacqueline and Craig Fouts; and sister of Jack (Emily) Gordon of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Bernice Hazlett of Sarver. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Mitchell Beveridge Jr., on April 9, 1991; two brothers, Floyd Gordon and Kenneth Gordon, in infancy; and a sister, Pauline Gordon. Private visitation and services were held today in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington. Officiating was Rev. Gerald J. Sanders, chaplain of Presbyterian Senior Care.
