Birth: Aug. 27, 1925 Death: May 11, 2014 Ocala Marion County Florida, USA Ocala - Loretta "Cookie" Holmes, 88, of Ocala, FL was called to her Heavenly Home from Ocala on Sunday, May 11, 2014. She moved here from Port Richey in 2002 and formerly of St. Petersburg, FL. She was a homemaker who spent her life loving and caring for family and friends. She loved playing Bingo, crocheting and carving out of wood. Loretta was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Anna; beloved husband John and daughter Karen Barnes. Cookie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and LaVerne Holmes of Glenshaw, PA; brother George "Bud" Koch and sister-in-law Norma Koch, both of Lakeland, FL. grandchildren, Brian, Victoria and Debbie and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her personal friend Edward Kirchhoff of Ocala. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-0Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL. Mass will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 8:30AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Highway 200, Ocala. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL.
