William Adolph Reetz, son of Godfrey and Lena (née Torneden) Reetz was born Jan. 16, 1890 in Leavenworth County, near Fall Leaf, and died May 9, 1952, at his home, at the age of 62 years, after an illness of about year and a half.
He was married to Frieda Schwarz of Worden, Feb. 19, 1919. He lived and farmed all his life in Leavenworth County, KS.
Surviving relatives are his wife, of the home; their daughters, Mrs. Katherine Neis, of Eudora; Mrs. Lila Self, of Hammond, Ind., and Miss Lorene Reetz, of the home; two son, Alvin Reetz, of Linwood, and Elmer Reetz, of Lawrence; two brothers Fred Reetz and Godfrey Reetz, four sisters, Mrs. Recka Grant, Mrs. Minnie Hill, Mrs. Ollivenne Simon, and Mrs. Louise Canary; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Louisa Schwarz, and eight grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Paul's Church of Eudora, where funeral services were held May 12, with the Rev. J.O. Poister in charge. Floyd Ott sang "Abide with Me" and "In the Garden," with Mrs. Homer Gerstenberger at the piano.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. Pall bearers were: Kelvin Hoover, George Cattlett, Harold Von Gunten, Herman Oelschlager, C.C. Gerstenberger, and George Milleret.
