Raymond Clifford Yeck, Jr. Resident of Antioch Ray age 64, passed away on September 8, 2012 at Stanford Medical Center, Stanford, CA. He was born on June 26, 1948 in Sewickley, PA to Raymond C. and Florence Catherine Yeck. Ray grew up in Gibsonia, PA. He graduated from Richland High School in 1966. Shortly after, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served for 10 years. He received various distinguished service awards for his three tours of duty, including the active duty in the Viet Nam War and as military instructor. He was honorably discharged in 1977, achieving the rank of Electronics Technician First Class. Upon his discharge Ray worked for the Department of Defense. He continued his career in Information Technology and was employed by various companies including Ford Aerospace. He ultimately built his own computer technology business which he ran until his death. Ray married Kathleen Galliher in 1982 at Walnut Creek, CA. They were happily married for over 30 years. Ray was an avid competitor in Masters Track, receiving countless medals for his participation in local and national US Masters track and field events. Ray is survived by his spouse Kathleen of Antioch, CA his brother John W. Yeck of North Granby, CT; and sister, Sharon L. Yeck, of Glenshaw, PA. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the staff at John Muir Cancer Institute, Concord, CA and the Bone Marrow Transplant Team at Stanford Medical Center for their outstanding care and compassion during Ray's 4 year battle with Leukemia. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of the individual's choice or the American Leukemia Society or American Cancer Society .
