CASS Mr. Joseph W. Cass, age 85 of Seymour, died Thursday at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth Williamson Cass. Born in Derby on June 29, 1925, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Theodora (Schumacher) Cass. He retired from the Town of Seymour Water Pollution Control Department as supervisor. Previously he worked as a civil engineer for the Frouge Co. and as a self employed land surveyor. Joe was a communicant of St. Augustine Church, a graduate of Assumption School, Seymour High School, and UCONN. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Navy and served as a cub scout leader for Pack 30 for many years. Survivors besides his wife include his sons, Joseph M. Cass and wife, Donna of Bethany, William J. Cass and his wife, Sandra of Seymour; daughters, Elizabeth M. Baker and husband, Jerry of Madrid, N.Y. and Nancy McLean and husband, Clint of Seymour; sisters, mary Sekellick and husband, Stephen of Seymour, Anna Williamson of Seymour, Theodora Ahearn and husband, Daniel of West Haven; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helene Cass; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John N. Cass and brother-in-law, Ernest Williamson. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N.
