VETERAN POLICEMAN OF EAST SIDE DIES
Joseph Brost, 65 a police patrol man on the east side for 49 years, died Friday at his home, 1625 E Webster Place. He had been ill for six months.
Mr Brost was born at Fond du Lac and came to Milwaukee in his youth. He joined the police department in 1892.
Mr Brost was widely known by east side residents who lived on his beat. Because of the pleasure which he got out of his work, he did not apply for a pension. He was transferred some time ago to the medical bureau.
Surviving Mr Brost are his wife, Mrs Mary Brost, two sons, Joseph of Slinger, Wis and Erwin, Long Branch, N. J., and two daughters, Mrs. R. V. Vorpahl and Mrs. William Lueckinbach.
Funeral services will be held at 9 am Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, N Oakland Ave and E Lafayette Place. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
