Donald W. Hagen, also known as Lefty, of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 77 years on Saturday, 21 April 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Waykesha County surrounded by his loving family. Don was born 20 January 1935 in Hartford, the son of Jacob and Loretta (nee Gehl) Hagen. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Berschneider on 16 August 1957. Don was baptized to the Lord on 27 January 1935 and confirmed in May of 1964. He served his country in the United Staes Army from 1956 to 1962 and served with the 32nd Division during the Berlin Crisis. Don worked for Harnischfeger Corporation (P&H) for 43 years, and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Don dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be deeply missed.
Don was survived by his wife Donna; children Pamela Bisek, Sharon (Daniel) Licht, Sandra (Randall) Abbott and Brian Hagen; grandchildren Katrina (Matt) Lipman, Krista (Nathan) Rusch, Nicole (Michael) Peters, Courtney Hagen (special friend Jake), Ryan Abbott, Molly Hagen (special friend Dan), Brandon Grudzinski (special friend Jasmine), Kyle Bisek, Hailey Hagen (special friend Grant), Alex Hagen; great-grandchildren Alana, Ava, Finley, Aubrey, and Blake; his sisters Mary Jean Pankratz, Phyllis Ribbons, and Joan (Donald) Kastenholtz; and his sisters-in-law Gloria Hagen, Luella Hagen, Karen Hagen and Beverly Hagen. He was further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Loretta Hagen, his son-in-law Joseph Bisek, his inlaws Raymond and Bernice Berschneider, brothers Robert, James, Thomas and Howard Hagen, and his brothers-in-law Robert Pankratz and John Ribbons.
A funeral service for Don was held on Wednesday, 25 April at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford where the Reverend Aaron Steinbrenner officiated. The family greeted relatives and friends on Wednesday at the church. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Thursday, 26 April.
