Birth: Dec. 23, 1948 Death: Jun. 4, 1989 San Diego County California, USA John F Ihrke, 40, of San Diego, CA, and formerly of Winona, MN died of leukemia June 4, 1989 at his home. He was born on Dec 23, 1948 in Winona to Ellsworth and Frances Mueller Ihrke. He lived in the Fremont area until 1967 when he enlisted in the Navy, retiring as master chief after 22 years of duty. On Oct 10, 1970, he and Fumiyo Hibino were married in Yokosuka, Japan. Survivors include his wife; his mother; seven brothers, Thomas of Anoka, MN, James of Madison Lake, MN, Stephen of Elk Grove, IL, Larry of Roseville, MN, Keith of Dillingham, AL, Paul of Lewiston, MN and Joseph of St. Louis Park, MN; two sisters Karen Moger of Winona, MN and Mary Ihrke of Stockton, CA; nephews and nieces. His father and a sister have died. The body was cremated and the ashes were buried at St. Rose of Lima cemetery, Lewiston, MN after a memorial service at the church with the Rev LeRoy Eikens officiating.
