Birth: Dec. 6, 1921 Death: Dec. 16, 1986 Winona Winona County Minnesota, USA Ellsworth Ihrke was born Dec 6, 1921 in Quincy township, Olmsted County to Gustaf and Clara Schuchard Ihrke. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Frances M Mueller Oct 25, 1944 in St. Charles. He farmed in the Lewiston area until moving to Altura because of poor health (multiple sclerosis). He moved to Lewiston in 1972. He was a member of the Fremont Creamery Board, The Winona County Fair Board, Veterans of Foreign Wars of St. Charles and the American Legion Post No 90 of Lewiston. He was a 4-H leader. Survivors include his wife;eight sons, Thomas of Anoka;James of Madison Lake; John of San Diego, CA; Stephen of Elk Grove Village, IL; Larry and Joseph, both of St. Louis Park; Keith of Dillingham, Alaska; and Paul of Lewiston; three daughters, Karen Moger of Winona; Carol, at home and Mary of Irvine,CA; 20 granchildren; seven brothers, Beryl, Delmer, Robert and Gus, all of St. Charles, George of Dover, Gene of Altura and Arly of Houston; five sisters, Leola Hinckley, Elaine Sanders and Shirley Loppnow, all of St. Charles; Joy Kieffer of Utica and Lorry Ihrke of Rochester. Two brothers have died. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Lewiston with Rev John Daly officiating with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald and Gerald Mueller, George and Delmer Ihrke, Gerald Corcoran and Martin Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
