He was ill only a short time.Funeral services were held at 9:30 am today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Island Grove with Rev. Fr. Carl Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Flagg service in charge.Mr. Meinhart was born 6 Apr 1899 in Jasper Co., son of Michael and Mary (Trapp) Meinhart.He married Margaret Elizabeth Garwood on 20 Sep 1923, and she survives.Mr. Meinhart was a prominent member of the Island Grove community, where he engaged in farming and was a dealer in seed corn. He also had served as tax assessor. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Men's Social.For several years Mr. Meinhart was a faithful worker in Red Cross fund drives.Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, Harold of Dieterich, and Donald and Franklin, both of Island Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Grimm and Mrs. Betty Kennedy both of Tuscola, and Mrs. Bernice Bolander of Newton; 68 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrrs. Anna Emmerich of Wheeler and Mrs. Carrie Meinhart of Mattoon.A sister, Katherine Whitmaker, preceded him in death.
