Gretchen Ann Westover of Delmar Gardens, Lawrenceville, died Nov. 24, 2004, at Emory Eastside Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Westover was born Gretchen Ann Forney in Holly Springs, Iowa, June 24, 1924, the youngest of six children of Yetta Wengert Forney and Paul Everett Forney. She was raised in South Dakota. In her adult years, she lived in Denver, St. Louis, Atlanta and California, before returning to the Atlanta area in 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers William, James, and J. Frederick Forney. She is survived by her sisters Kathryn Holst of Yankton, South Dakota and Elizabeth Pfeifle of Cokato, Minnesota; her children Claudia Jeffrey Svara and her husband James of Raleigh, North Carolina; Dana Paul Jeffrey and wife Sue of Forth Worth, Texas; and Michael James Jeffrey and his wife Margaret of Atlanta; stepchildren John Hoyt and wife Pat of West Virginia; Wendy Westover Dewel and husband Kent of California. She also leaves grandchildren John and Kevin Svara of North Carolina; Angela Rhodes, Ryan Jeffrey, and Garrath Jeffrey of Texas; and Erin and Lauren Jeffrey of Georgia, two great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation by National Cremation Society with private family service.
