- [S927] Obituary.
RYEGATE - Clyde Wambolt, 68, of Ryegate, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, from a short battle with cancer and a long battle with emphysema.
Clyde was born in Sanders on Oct. 24, 1934, the youngest of 13 children to Fred and Pauline Wambolt. He was raised on a farm in Kinsey and went to school in Miles City. Clyde enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 16, 1953, and served our country for nine years. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1962.
On Sept. 1, 1956, Clyde married Barbara Goldstein in California and lived there until he moved to Billings in 1970, where he drove truck for Corcoran Trucking. On June 11, 1977, he married Susan Schaff and began working at Rimrock Foundation as a drug and alcohol counselor, continuing until emphysema forced his retirement in 1996. Clyde and Susan moved to Ryegate to live on the Schaff family farm.
Clyde had a great love for family, camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed telling jokes, stories and making people laugh. Clyde was a wonderful husband, father and friend. We will miss him very much. WE LOVE YOU, DAD!
