Clifford Neuhardt Obituary
Aberdeen: Funeral service for Clifford L. Neuhardt, 86, of Aberdeen will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1708 8th Ave. N.E. The Rev. Jais H. Tinglund, from Our Savior Lutheran Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Ellendale City Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Clifford died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Clifford Lloyd Neuhardt, son of Philip John and Martha (Bertsch) Neuhardt, was born on Dec. 31, 1924, in southeast McIntosh County near Ashley, N.D. He attended country school in Palmyra Township. In 1938, his family moved to a farm southeast of Forbes, N.D.
He was united in marriage to Alea Kathrine Wolff on Oct. 14, 1945, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Forbes. They made their home on a farm north of Forbes for a few years. In 1951, they moved to the Neuhardt family farm and farmed there raising small grains and livestock until 1971, when they semi-retired and moved to Aberdeen. He then worked part-time at the First National Bank as a custodian for several years. His wife died April 18, 2010.
He and Alea thoroughly enjoyed fishing and took the opportunity to go every chance they got. Every weekend, they would attend dances and socialize with their many friends. He also liked to play cards and visit and have coffee with friends.
He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and a past member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, James Neuhardt of Huron and Dennis Neuhardt of Bristol; two sisters, Arlene (James) Hukki and Elnore Wolff, both of Nevis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Kiersten Sombke, Sarah Johnson, Matt Neuhardt and Nick Neuhardt; and eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt Sombke, Brody Sombke, Tally Johnson, Nash Johnson, Alea Neuhardt, Genevieve Neuhardt, Sydney Neuhardt and Mya Neuhardt.
His parents; wife; one brother, Duane; one sister, Deloris Neuhardt; and one grandson, Destri Neuhardt, preceded him in death.
Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen have been entrusted with a rrangements.
