Thomas Haren Lisbon- Thomas G. Haren, 71, of State Route 518, passed away unexpectedly at 11:10pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. Mr. Haren was born December 12, 1938 in Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence Gilbert and Rose (Needs) Haren and had lived in Lisbon since 1971, coming from Stark County. He was a meat cutter and store manager with the former A&P Company, and had worked at various local supermarkets. He also owned and operated his own meat market in Hartville, until he was forced to retire in 1996 due to declining health. A faithful member of St. George Catholic Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Leader of Prayer. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4049, where he held various offices and was a Past Grand Knight. Mr. Haren was also a member of the Cardinal Mercier Assembly #804. He also was a board member of the Family and Community Services of Columbiana County and was dedicated to the students and staff of Robert Bycroft School, where he portrayed “Santa Claus” for many years. Tom was also an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed gardening and his beloved dogs, but most precious to him were his grandchildren. He is survived and will be fondly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (Bose) Haren, whom he married October 11, 1958; daughter, Nancy Saling of Salineville; sons Greg (Gina) Haren of Lowellville, Ohio, Raymond (Kriss) Haren of Tipp City, Ohio and Gary (Kella) Haren of Lisbon; sister, Judy (Bob) Mosnot of Louisville; brother, Dick (Debbie) Haren of North Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Tom Haren of Cleveland and his fiancée, Carla Provenzano, Gregory Haren and Cecelia Haren, both of Lowellville, Benjamin Haren of Lisbon and his fiancée, Tara Blackburn, Patrick Haren and Sara Haren, both of Lisbon, and Julia Saling, Jennifer Saling, and Natalie Saling, all of Salineville. Mr. Haren was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dan Saling, Jr. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. George Catholic Church, 271 West Chestnut Street, Lisbon with Rev. James Lang and Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Dungannon, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Friday, at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will be held at 9pm, and also from 10 until 10:30am Saturday at the Funeral Home. Services
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. George Catholic Church, 271 West Chestnut Street, Lisbon with Rev. James Lang and Rev. Robert Edwards officiating.
Interment
Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Dungannon, Ohio.
