Dorotheia I. Hoerner, 91, Mott, ND, entered eternal life March 17, 2017.
Dorotheia was born June 5, 1925, in Mott, ND, to Carl and Katherina (Haas) Hardmeyer. She attended school in Mott playing clarinet in the high school band. She met the love of her life, Val Hoerner, when they were attendants at a relative?s wedding and were married February 1, 1943. The first three years of their 63 year marriage were spent at Ft. Jackson, SC.
After the war they returned to Mott opening the Style Shop, a women?s clothing store which they operated for five years. Val started teaching and they moved to Delamare, White Earth, Bordulac, Selfridge, and settled in Dickinson. Dorotheia then began her career as a sales associate working in a variety of retail establishments. After she retired they moved to Bismarck. Life was full of travels for them as they wintered in Arizona and traveled to visit their children in many parts of the country.
She was a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home for two years, where she participated in many activities. Her smile, which lit up a room, will be missed as she dances in the heavens with all her family and friends.
Keeping her in their fondest memories are her children, Katherine (Robert) Kilzer, Bentley, ND; Colette Moger, Lone Tree, CO; Joan (Robert) Lisko, Colorado Springs, CO; Michael (Patricia) Hoerner, Summerville, SC; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and son-in-law Leroy Job, Bismarck, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl J. and Katherina (Haas) Hardmeyer, husband Val, daughter Valerie Bren, son-in-law, Mike Moger, granddaughter Beverly Nott, and brothers George and Ted S. Hardmeyer.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home 401 Millionaire Ave, Mott, ND.
