Peter G. Hoerner, 67, of Richardton died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been ill for nine months
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton. Rev. Andrew L. Wolf will officiate; Sylvia Feller is organist; the church choir will sing; burial will be in the church cemetery. Paullbearers are Leo Gress, Ray Hauck, Norbert Amann, Paul Hoff, Darrel Knudson and Frank Schwab.
Hoerner will be taken to Richardton today for a wake service at 8 p.m. by family and friends. Rosary was said Thursday by family and friends.
He was born in Richardton on Jan. 15, 1915 to Michael and Eleanore (Stein) Hoerner. He was reared on a farm 12 miles northwest of Richardton, and married Louise Hardmeyer at Richardton on Oct. 17, 1939. They farmed and ranched on the family farm until retiring into Richardton during July, 1980.
He attended St. Mary's Grade School, Assumption Abbey Prep and Assumption College, all of Richardton. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks No. 1137, Eagles No. 2328, German-Hungarian, Richardton Senior Citizens, the board of directors for Farmers State Bank of Richardton, North Dakota Stockman's Association and North Dakota Farm Bureau.
Survivors include three sons, David (Dickinson), Peter (Richardton) and James (Richardton); six daughters, Sheila (Mrs. Ken) Steckler (Dickinson), Theresia (Mrs. James) Renner (Bismarck), Karen (Mrs. Anthony) Messmer (Richardton), Silvia (Mrs. Dennis) Lembke (Gladstone), Michaela (Mrs. Darnell) Grosz (Elgin) and Marie Hoerner (Bismarck); and 24 grandchildren.
Also three brothers, Fred and Emil (Richardton) and Val (Dickinson); four sisters, Eleanor Forster (Dickinson), Anna (Mrs. Frank) Berger (Richardton), Nellie (Mrs. George) Kuch (Richland, Wash.) and Margaret Rummel (Dickinson).
He was preceded in death by his wife,( Louise) who died April 10, 1981, and one daughter, (Janet), died June 11,1981 (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)
