DICKINSON -- Harry William Ressler, 60, Dickinson, died June 17, 2005, at a Dickinson Hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Home and one hour before services.
Harry was born Aug. 21, 1944, at Mandan, to Jack and Caroline (Schaff) Ressler. He was raised on the family farm and educated in the Odense area. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany. In July of 1968, he married Mary Johnson. They moved to Bismarck, where they owned a trucking company. He worked in the trucking industry throughout his career.
Harry was grateful to have received a kidney transplant in March of 2000. He entered the St. Luke's Nursing Home in September of 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Dean Ressler, Atlanta, Brad and Heidi Ressler, Coon Rapids Minn., and Shawn Ressler, Denver; one sister and brother-in-law, Marion and John Grasl, Bismarck; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Shirley Ressler, Bismarck, Adam and Joyce Ressler, Apple Valley, Minn., and Ed and Marge Ressler, Dickinson; and two grandchildren Emma and Kathryn Ressler.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Caroline; and an infant sister, Amelia.
