Birth: Jun. 10, 1944 Death: Mar. 22, 2014 Veronica Joan DeFord, 69, of Greensboro, MD passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 10, 1944 in Greensboro to the late Raymond and Margaret Gibbs Vogt. Joan was a graduate of North Caroline High School, class of 1962. She had been the manager of State Line Gas of Marydel for over 25 years. She enjoyed following her children, and later, her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a member of St. Elizabeth-St Benedict Catholic Parish. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Manship, Sr., brother Paul Vogt, sisters Mary Ann Hayman and Margaret "Chippy" Hastings. She is survived by her sons Theodore Manship, Jr. and wife Charlene of Ridgely and Vincent Manship and wife Becky of Denton, sister Teresa Manship and husband Irvin of Denton, companion Don Montgomery and grandchildren Dustin Manship and fiancée Lindsay Bell, Emilee Manship, Brice Manship and Will Manship and several nephews and nieces who she thought of as her own. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Denton. Interment will follow the service in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Greensboro. A Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro.
