Clifford Stoops Wednesday, March 5, 2014 Clifford Robert Stoops, age 71, longtime resident of the Mano - Cassville, MO area, passed away on Sunday evening, March 2, 2014, while at Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville, MO. Clifford was born in Aurora, MO on August 27, 1942, son of Raymond and Margaret (Grass) Stoops. Clifford graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK, with the class of 1960. He furthered his education at Tulsa University, receiving his degree in Accounting. In 1973, he purchased the Big M Marina at Table Rock Lake and operated the marina until 1980. On March 6, 1976, in Mano, MO, Clifford and Deborah Garrett were united in marriage. In 2000, Clifford and Deborah moved back to Cassville from Tulsa after he retired as a Computer Systems Analyst from BP/AMOCO. Clifford was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Pilgrim-Rock Masonic Lodge and Akdar Shrine in Tulsa. Clifford had a great love for the outdoors, especially while he was hunting or fishing. Clifford is survived by his wife, Deborah, of the home; he was the proud father of four daughters, Jackie Hightower, and husband Mike, of Tulsa, OK, Crystal Bowles, and husband Mike, of Owasso, OK, Jennifer Mullins, and husband Bennie, of Tulsa and Jessica Hudson, and husband Matt, of Tulsa; two sisters, Sharron Caudill, and husband Melvin, of Monett and Susan Neubauer, of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, Erika, Jason, Elizabeth, Dylan, Austin, Aislynn and Riley; one great-granddaughter, Gwyneth; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Stoops. Masonic services, provided by the Monett Masonic Lodge #129 A.F. & A.M., will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services for Mr. Stoops will directly follow. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Akdar Shrine Center in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
