Dies at Age 34; Funeral MondayMrs. Betty J. Voellinger, 34, of 115 South 29th Street, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient since Tuesday. She had been ill for several months.Mrs. Voellinger was a teletype operator for the Belleville office of the Western Union Telegraph Company and formerly was an employee of A. G. Edwards and Sons, investment brokers, for 12 years.A daughter of Fred and Catherine Guetterman; nee Holtgrave, she was born at Freeburg on November 18, 1933. Her parents reside at Freeburg. She married Wayne A. Voellinger in Freeburg on March 8, 1952. Mr. Voellinger, weighmaster for Peabody Coal Company's Midwest Mine at Millstadt, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schumacher, 1809 West F. Street.Also, surviving are a daughter, Diana, and a son, Mark, both at home; four sisters, Marie, wife of Clarence Kern, Freeburg; Anita, wife of Surtees - Graham, 1024 North 17th Street; Sister Mary Marceline, Poor Handmaids - of Jesus Christ, a teacher at St. Anthony School at Beckemeyer, Ill.; and Ruth, wife of James Kelso, 221 South 16th Street; and six brothers, Dan Guetterman, 112 South 13th Street; Herbert Guetterman, R. R. 2, Highland, Ill.; Fred Guetterman Jr., 1812 South Illinois Street; Charles Guetterman, 909 Peony Drive; Paul Guetterman, 420 North High Street; and James Guetterman, 708 Gilbert Street, Swansea. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marceline.Mrs. Voellinger was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Sodality of St. Mary Church, Daughters of Isabella and St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary.The funeral will be held at 9:40 a.m. Monday from the George Renner and Sons Funeral Home to St. Mary Church for a requiem Mass at 10:00 o'clock. Msgr. Joseph J. Orlet , pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m., Saturday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Voellinger's six brothers will be the pallbearers.
