She was a lifelong resident of Franklin. She was born on Aug. 13, 1920, in Franklin, to Claude and Nellie (Williams) Hend­ricks. She married Elmo Weddle on Aug. 10, 1942. He preceded her in passing on Sept. 13, 2002. Survivors include a son, Dan (Bonnie) Weddle; a daughter, Janet (Kurt) Hass; five grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Davis, David (Katie Lawson) Coble, Mark (Kristen) Hass, Mandy (Andy) Dudley and Jeff Weddle; and seven great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kyle Davis, Jacob Northcutt, Daisy Coble, Ava Hass, and Alaina and Brock Dudley. Helen was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Elmo; two sisters, Mary Higby and Edna Church; and two brothers, Tom Hendricks and Bill Hendricks. She attended Needham schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Helen was employed with U.S. Rubber Co. in Indianapolis. She later was employed by L.S. Ayres & Co. for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin for 81 years. She was a member of the Naomi Circle. Helen counted the offering at Grace Church for 25 years. She also was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Home Ec Club, the Franklin Active Adult Center, Nineveh Senior Center and the Walnut Street Club. The Rev. Andy Kinsey will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
