She was a 1942 graduate of California High School and a 1945 graduate of Washington Hospital School of Nursing and was president of her graduating class.

They were devoted to each other and were a wonderful example of Christian love, dedication and hard work to their family. When they were still in good health, they enjoyed traveling and caring for flowers around their home. Mrs. Carson greatly missed her husband after he went to heaven June 16, 2006.
Mr. and Mrs. Carson spent their life together raising their five children in the home they built together on her family's farm.
Surviving are their children and their spouses, Janice and Paul Salansky, Ruth Ann and Randy Shultz, Susie Skaggs, Bruce and Rhonda Pinkney Carson and Scott and Dawn McVay Carson.
She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her 15 grandchildren, Patrick, Mark and Rosalee Salansky, Beth Shultz Craig and husband Brad, Matthew Shultz and wife Kerry, Jeffrey Skaggs and wife Michelle, Steven Skaggs and wife Bethany, Christopher Skaggs and wife Jordan, Brian, Jonathan and Katie Skaggs, Stephanie Carson Wanamaker and husband Tony and Benjamin, Brandon and Nicole Carson; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Caitlin and Madison Craig, Andrew Shultz, William, Joseph and Michael Skaggs; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Tony Wanamaker, Zane and Alexandra.
