Donald Edward Carson of Fallowfield Township R.D.2 died in his home at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 1984
Mr. Carson was born Nov. 10, 1914, in North Charleroi, a son of Bertha Coven Carson, who survives and resides in Fallowfield Township, and the late Stephen Edward Carson.
Mr. Carson attended Charleroi High School and graduated from California State College with a degree in industrial arts.
He retired in 1976 from the Charleroi Plant of Corning Glass Works with 28 years of service. Mr. Carson, at his retirement, was a senior mold designer - a position in which he earned several awards of distinction.
Mr. Carson circled the world as he served in the U.S. Army for a period of four years during World War II.
He was Protestand by faith.
Mr. Carson was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi where he had served as a deacon, F&AM Lodge No. 615 of Charleroi, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Wa Cha Gree Forest No. 145.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Marjorie Nelson Carson; a daughter, Suzanne Carson Check; a son-in-law, John G. Check III; and brothers, Roy, Eugene, Robert and Millard Carson, all of Fallowfield Township, Merland Carson of Coal Center and Wilbur Carson of Texas.
Friends will be received, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Fneral Home, Inc. 228 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.
