Bio: Jean F. Losey, 88, of Beach Park went to be with the Lord on Jan. 25, 2016. A funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday in Lake County Baptist Church, 1550 W. Yorkhouse Road, Waukegan, with Pastor Ralph Warren officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Sunday until services in the church. An interment service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Jean was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Ladd to William and Mary Louise Losey Sr. and came to the Waukegan area in 1956. He married Joyce E. Schwingle on Aug. 13, 1949, in Perkins Grove Church, LaMoille.He and his late wife, Joyce, had an integral part in starting and developing the ministry of Kids’ Klubs Inc. in the Illinois River Valley, which began in 1953. Jean was a longtime member of Bonnie Brook Baptist Church and a current member of Lake County Baptist Church. He was an active volunteer at Lake County Baptist Church and School for many years. He retired from Johnson Motors in 1992 after 28 years of employment. Jean also was a janitor at Bonnie Brook Baptist Church for many years, worked on the Goetz Farm (on Route 173) for many years, and loved gardening, woodworking and helping others. The Lord blessed him with hard-working hands and he passed that on to his children. Jean helped countless people, churches and other organizations with building projects, including building his own home.Survivors include his children, Gary (Barb) Losey of Bartonville, Don (Debbie) Losey of Winthrop Harbor, Jan (Bruce) Thompson of Beach Park, Cheryl (Bob) Harris of Zion, Mike (Christine) Losey of Newnan, Ga., and Mark (Jeannie) Losey of Cary, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, William (Betty) Losey Jr. of Princeton; and sister, Mary Allicks of Ohio, Ill.Jean was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; an infant son, Timothy Losey; brothers, Charles, David and Lee Losey; and a sister, Rose Robbins.Memorial donations are suggested to Lake County Baptist Church/School.
