Aurelia Herbert
Aurelia K. Herbert, nee Jacob, 96, of Belleville, Ill., our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, left this earth on Saturday, July 25, 2009, to be with her Lord and Savior. Born on Sept. 11, 1912, in Belleville, Ill., she passed away at St. Paul's Home in Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Herbert was a member of the Belleville Senior Citizens, where she was very active and enjoyed planning senior trips. The trips were anywhere from the Lake of the Ozarks to Las Vegas. She also participated in the monthly meetings and worked at the Senior Citizens Re-Sale Lot. She loved dancing and could often be found at a church picnic dancing to the music. Mrs. Herbert was a former member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.
Aurelia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Herbert, who died Oct. 10, 1977; her parents, Charles and Josephine, nee Dammerich, Jacob; two brothers, Stan Jacob and Norman Jacob; and two sisters, Delores Hunt and Minerva Bloomer.
Surviving are her son, Harold Dale (Rose) Herbert of Belleville, Ill.; a brother, Cleo Jacob of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Fernell Talley of Cahokia, Ill.; five grandchildren, Bruce (Cyleta) Herbert of Shiloh, Ill., Sharon (Tony) Verbois of Collinsville, Ill., Lisa (Greg) Collins of Decatur, Ill., Robert (Michelle) Herbert of Decatur, Ill., and Brad (Kathy) Herbert of Festus, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Father Nicholas Junker officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
