  [S927] Obituary. The Kulm Messenger, ND December 8, 1955 Mrs. Kathrina Kusler, 72, Omak, Washington, died suddenly at her home Wednesday, November 23, 1955. She was a member of the Reformed church. Pastor James A. Moore of the Methodist church was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Omak cemetery. Kathrina Bender was born February 20, 1883, at Scotland, South Dakota. On May 24, 1904, she was united in marriage to Gottlieb Kusler at Ashley. They lived in the Fredonia [ND] area until 1937, when they moved to Omak, Washington. Last year they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Surviving are her husband, Gottlieb, of Omak; twelve children, Edward of Jamestown, Reinhold of Deer Park; Hugo of Wilbur, Washington; Gideon, Jake, Johanna Jerrow, John and Sam, all of Omak; Mrs. [Eda] Karl Grenz of Fredonia; Mrs. [Alida] Willis Harriman of Bandon, Oregon; Calvin Kusler of Seattle; Milbert of Yakima; 27 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Peter Bender of Fairview, Montana; George Bender of Brooks, Alberta, Canada; John Bender of Linton, North Dakota; three sisters, Mrs. Magdalena Voll of Yankton, South Dakota; Christine Rembold of Scotland, South Dakota and Mrs. Emma Sukut of Fredonia.
