Esther Bender July 08, 1922 - February 02, 2018 Share this obituary Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share in Email Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Esther Bender, 95, formerly of Streeter and Washburn died February 2, 2018 at Augusta Place a Prospera Community, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Washburn, ND with Pastor Erik Johnson officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Zion Cemetery, rural Streeter, ND. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Goetz Funeral Chapel in Washburn. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Esther was born July 8, 1922 in Streeter, ND the daughter of William and Pauline (Meisch) Moser. She was raised and educated in Streeter. Esther married Arthur Bender on September 27, 1945 in Jamestown, ND. They lived and farmed near Streeter for a short period of time before moving into Streeter. Esther did daycare for a set of twins, Brittany and Brooke Spitzer. The Spitzer girls became very close to Esther and Arthur. They retired and moved to Washburn to be closer to family. Art and Esther later moved to Bismarck. She enjoyed word searches, the activities at Augusta Place and most of all visiting with family and friends. Esther was a member of the church choir and women’s group of the United Church of Christ in Streeter. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church Women in Washburn. Esther is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence & Nicole Bender of Bismarck; her daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn & Rick Richard of Washburn; her two daughters-in-law, Linda Bender of Mandan and Marlinda Bender of Bismarck; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Kay) Moser of Wheatridge, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2017, her daughter, Delphine, three sons, Glen, Larry, and Lloyd, her daughter-in-law, Geraldine Bender and ten siblings.
